evap system

I had my service engine soon light on and I went to advanced auto and read the code. It was a evap system leak, large... I checked my gas cap it was on good, what else is there that would cause that?

thanks for any help

Ben

Could be any thing from a hose off to a failed solenoid. Best advice is to go to a shop that has a smoke machine and test it with that. This is a emissions system and may be under warranty.

Take a quick peek under your rear bumper and make sure the canister/hoses are intact.

Yeah, I just looked and it seems that everything is attached. But do to my recent fire (another thread "Fire") I have looked further into the problem and found there to be a disconnected vacuum hose. Now, I'm not sure what its for though or where it goes. I'm starting to think that it's an EVAP line, and thats what caused the fire.

I'm not able to take a picture of it but I'll describe it the best I can.. I'm going to say that its 1/2 hose, it's about 1.5 feet long and it connects to a solid line, on the driver side frame, at the bottom, and then the solid line seems to brakes away from the frame and goes underneath the car, i believe toward the center.

I'm hoping that somebody will be able to help me out in finding what this hose is.

Thanks,
Ben
