EVO or STI

Hi guys im new here and have been reading about both the EVO and the STI for about a month now. Im trying to figure out which car is the better car. I know all the answers here will be biased, which is what I want!

Tell me why I should buy an EVO over an STI!!

well if you want a newbies opinion who owns an sti i love the sti alot cause it sounds alot better then the evos and drives alot better. Only thing is I believe that sti's are alot slower and cost more money to make a faster car. So if speed is what your looking for go for the evo if not sti for you my man.

Search is the easiest way to find this beaten to death answer to your question. Anyways this is an Evo forum so of course we will all be bias towards the Evo, but Evo's are the better car imo they are easier and cheaper to mod and the 4G63 is such a great engine even the new 4B11 is pretty stout and they now have AYC or SAWC whichever it is. And they always outperform the Subaru, and both cars modded all out imo the Evo will win.
Subaru does make a good daily driver though, with more creature comforts and a bit of more low end torque with its more displacement and smaller turbo. IMO though if you are considering a Subaru get an 04-07 Sti I am not really fond of these ugly hatchbacks that are out now. but if I were in your shoes I'd pick up a stock or lightly modded evo 8 5 speed and build it up you can get them for a fairly decent price and have enough money left over to build it up.

dude, seriously, just go drive both. either way it depends on what you want. if you want a more comfortable dd with a softer ride, go with the sti for sure. boxer rumble, cruise control etc...if you want the best handling car, (esp if you planning on modding it) get the evo. as simple as that. but again, its all personal preference, go for a drive. keep us posted!

I have driven the sti but cant find a evo to test drive. Coming from a v8 I do love the rumble of the sti alot more then the evo exhaust.

All the videos I keep watching show EVOs beating alot of V8's like vettes, cobras, ls1s etc etc and I dont see many videos of STIs beating them.

BTW im looking at 04-05 STI and the 03-06 EVO.

thats because they are faster when modded and cost less to do so. also handle better. more options the list goes on. and i personally like the way it looks better.

Since you say you keep seeing video of EVO's keep beating V8's like vettes, cobras, ls1s etc etc. Then why dont you buy a STI and mod it up and try to beat all those EVO's? Try something new for a change lol.

But yeah, Try to find an EVO and test drive it first. Comming from a V8. I would think you would like the STI more over the EVO because of displacement. Take your time, dont rush on buying it just yet. Do a little more research.

Either choice good luck to you buddy.

i am currently in the market and its seems the 06+ sti's compared to the 06 evo are more expensive. Stick to the evo, little more rare than an STI.

1 video sold me. edmunds video evo vs sti. cant find it but the evo came out on top with just about everything, other that economical comfortability.

obviously alot of different shows have a subi/mitsu bias as well as magazines. if i where you i would try to find a pamplet on an evo and an sti from the dealership to compare.
