Hopefully one more year

Hey guys,

After taking a look at my current finacial situation I am hopeing a year from now I can purchase my first EVO. I got a bike this past summer and took a loan out on it and will be paying it off in the spring. Now I am hopeing by then I have enough stored away to have about a lil over 10,000 including the sale of my current to put down on an EVO, then I'd take out a loan for the rest. I just love these cars. Right now I am a junior in college studing mechanical engineering. So i was hopeing to reward myself with and EVo for my senior year if I do good . I would want to get an EVO IX MR. It would be a daily driver for me so I wouldn't be modding it to much so I am not worried about the tranny holding up to alot of power mods. Sorry for the long winded write up, but I guess my questions are would it be a good idea on the loan for an EVO? I think it might stress me a bit for money but I just want to drive one so bad. Also just getting my name out here in the forums

Honestly, I'd wait until after you graduate bro.

Just not worth it to take out a big loan while still in school.

Believe me because I know exactly how you feel. I just graduated in May 2008 and was always itching to get a new car... and I still don't even have one yet.

Buy a house first, and then put your nice new car in the garage

I'm planning on doing something like that too. Save up 10k then take out a loan for the rest that i need with an extra 1k-2k for the cars security system and then continue paying off the rest maybe for 4 or 5 years.

Thanks guys. I got alot to think about before I buy one. Its will be atleast a year so we will see how things go till. I appreciate the personal experinces they help alot. I also got one more question and its about where I live. I go to school in RI but live in MA. During the summer when I am at home I loive down a dirt road that a bit rocky nothing huge but still. How would the EVO fair agaist a rocky terrian. My road is about a quater-half mile of dirt lol.

i did the same thing... im a junior in college now thinking of majoring in enginerring as well...

mm i bite the bullet and bought me one for 23k with 50k miles... not the greatest deal but yea... haha you could get one for like 17k ish and your payments would be low.. mine are 390 a month... im sure if you ride your bike yoou could afford the EVO with all that money you save on gas. I have a Yamaha R6 myself and with the money im saving on gas im able to make double payments on the car booyaaahhh

Well engineering is a good time if you enjoy the material. I have alot of work this semester for my classes. So I figure if I do well I will reward myself for senior year. Then once I graduate i'll be making enough to pay off my EVO and college loans kinda soon lol. And yes I do ride my bike alot when the weather permits nothing like 50mpg . So we will see how my financies are in about a year.
