you may have seen my post about how i just got my amazing gg evo ix mr about 2 weeks ago. bad news....
While behind a truck at a stop sign.... the driver of this giant 50 foot flat bed construction truck thought it would be a good idea to.... back up.... quickly. Before I could bat an eye this giant truck slammed into the front of my evo and crumpled my front end. hood won't close, bent in about 5 places. bumper is screwed. cracked both my HID headlights, and god knows what else. didn't deploy airbag though...
It still runs, doesn't make any noise, doesn't leak anything.... but GOD DAMN IT! i have the worst luck in the world. The guy had apparently just pulled out of the Home Depot, and remembered he forgot something there. So instead of going through the intersection and flipping around at the light, he just figured he would back up about an 1/8th mile to the driveway around back because he didn't think there was anyone else behind him. I honked, he says he didn't hear. I am relatively new to driving a stick and just couldn't get the car going in reverse that fast. the whole thing was just so quick. i just about started crying... called my insurance. it should be covered by this guy. It was a company car, fully insured, just a lot of red tape and waiting around.... i'm so unbelievably upset right now. i feel like i just had my arm cut off or something....

I believe it. It happens a lot, and it really does suck. hopefully everything will be fine with the insurance company and the car'll be fine. doesn't sound like anything irreplaceable was damaged.

Sorry about the bad luck. That was very very very very foolish of the driver in the truck to do that. There are a lot of bad drivers out there. I had someone pull right out in front of me today and I had to brake hard to keep from hitting them. That sort of stuff happens all the time.
If it runs ok then it's probably just a bunch of superficial damage that can be fixed right up. Post up some damage pictures when you can.

Sucks to hear man, at least you're alright. Like Massimo Power said, insurance will take care of it and you'll be back on the road in no time.

i feel your pain, the day i made my first payment on my evo some retarded 16 yr old kid decided he wanted to use my bumper to stop his car......thankfully only cosmetic damage. Replaced with a jdm rear and a better then stock rear crash beam.

same thing happened to me a couple years ago in my 1g. Some *** (home is supposed to say something else, but I am on my second vodka and mountain dew) in a limo backed up smashed my front end and then made a right down a side street. I had to chase him down 2 blocks and cut him off so he would stop. Very close to ripping out his throat, but I kept my cool. Never paid me the whole amount he owed me for the quote.

ya man, i was just hanging out at my friends house. i had my X for about 1.5 months. i came out around 10pm and i see this hand size dent on the rear quarter panel.......i almost cried too. i feel your pain.
the guy came back....and he said he felt guilty so he came back to give me his insurance.... apparently he backed into me and he had back up sensors too!

Being hit like that is hard enough, but in the first 2 weeks of ownership, that really hurts.
Those first couple of weeks is when you are so protective of the car; it's like having a kid. I could barely leave it in a parking lot - even after parking 1/4 mile away from any other car. I re-checked the locks about 6-7 times before my GF had enough and practically dragged me away.
