Hello, Finally able to post: I'm a newb and need help on buying an Evo
Hello everyone,
I'm pretty much a newbie. I starting drooling for an Evo since the 90's when it was first available in the Philippines, unfotunately can't afford 1 back then it was priced at 2.5 million pesos which is equivalent to US$95K at that time.
Now I'm in Canada, always wanted an AWD. almost went for a 07 Sti until i found out Evo will be up for sale in canada this year. with the new Evo X offered in the market and new bumper law. I'm decided on buying Evo. but which? a new 08 Evo x GSR or MR (only if i can get a reasonable price), or an Evo 9 MR?
Anyone from Eastern Canada, can you reply me on how much a GSR and MR in your area? I live in BC, everything is overpriced. except ganja.
so far about 44k for a GSR here.
I don't know much about Evo in details, and this will be my first turbo AWD car.
test drove lots of cars, nothing feels better than d evo x gsr. interior wasnt as pleasing compare to other in the same price margin. MR and sti are not avaible for test drive. so dont know how they are.
Looking for help about each specific model and other factors.
My plan is to take the car to the track on weekends for auto X or TA.
What can you say between the 9 and the X? dont have 9 available near my area for test drive, so i need opinions from fortunate people who get to toy with both 9 and X.

the Evo X imo= an extremely tamed and held back race car made to market to a wider audience
the 8/9 imo= raw power with the huge potential to mod and upgrade
u say u wanna take it to the track on weekends? the Evo X is not something u take to the track imo. and trust me once u drive an VIII or a IX...you'll never wanna set foot in an X
as far as interior...dont be surprised as these cars focused more on performance rather than interior styling and such...which most interior styling and addons cause the car to have more weight
