Hey guys, New here!

Just thought I would post and and intro myself. Always been a die-hard Mitsu guy. I am just now getting to where I can afford an Evo so I am in the market for one as we speak. I have had a 7G Galant for years and it has been the best car I have ever owned. I did the first 5 speed swap in the country on mine and did a big write-up on it. I have gotten to know Mitsus well enough that I could take one apart with my eyes closed! Anyway, I have been in the market for an VIII or an STi. I like the extra features on the STi (6 speed, suede interior, front LSD) but I hear the motors blow up pretty easily. Any opinions on this? I assume much of it is ham-fisted driving. Anyway, I look forward to trollin the boards so any help that can be offered is appreciated! thanks guys!

Well I am in Chattanoooga Tennessee so it would have to be an absolute smokin deal for me to drive it home from that far. Just for the record, I dont want a cloth interior. If I can't find an SSL now I will wait until I can. Unless someone knows of a leather kit for these cars.

Yeah. The comparison I got the other day was generally if you stick an FP green on an EVO youre grinning from ear to ear with tons of power. If you stick one on an STi you are rebuilding your motor not long after that. The WRX's seem terrible about it but you still see plenty of STi's with built motors in the 350HP range. To me I've seen first gen DSM's making 400 without lifting a valve cover!
