my submission to the dark side is almost complete

always loved my subie and hated mitsubishi with a passion but with my legs giving me problems and other reasons i decided to get an evo x mr. no other evo would cut it for me since my wrx is much faster than most evos. anyway i won an auction on ebay for 33k and the car is in texas and im in washington. but its a great car, even tim bailey who tunes for cobb and tuned my wrx, told me evo x's are "bad ***". for now ill try to keep with scca solo rules and keep it mostly stock. only things i want to do are maybe sway bars, an access port, exhaust cutout and maybe electronically adjustable coilovers when theyre available. don't know whats legal yet. dont know anything about the car.

maybe now i should wear all black and make va-wing...... va-wing noises. just kidding, first thing is the fog lights need to be removed, trunk needs de-badging and windows need tint. don't know if i want to remove subwoofer and amp, i dont need or want them, they take up space and excess weight but its weight behind the rear axle on a front-engined car, i wonder how much?

I'm sure exhaust cutouts and coilover will put your car out of stock class.

Tinting is not necessary and may be dangerous on a car you track with.

Having a stereo system in your trunk to balance out weight distribution is a terrible idea, try removing A/C which is at the front and adding fuel cell in the trunk.

well not really planning on tracking my car often, just autocross. removed the a/c from my suby, bad idea on hot days. wanna keep car daily driver. oh yeah and how could window tint be dangerous, i dont want limo stuff, its just nice to have a light tint.

It is making me sick everytime I hear somebody buying a X MR for less than I bought my IX MR for...

If you do decide to take it out to the autoX, be sure to come over and talk to me. I usually go to about 75% of the autoXs in western washington.

if access ports are no good on evo's, why does tim bailey who tunes for cobb recommend one? i spoke to him a few days ago and he's tuned many of the evo x's in this country. i would believe him over some anonymous person on the internet. everyone is entitled to their own opinion though, so i commend you for trying to lend a helping hand....

my fiancee is finally starting to warm up to the idea of me getting a new car. she really likes the nav system, stereo, and steering wheel stuff. i just have to promise no boxes will arrive in the mail full of car parts. but itll be a while til im ready to jump a few classes in auto-x. maybe after last deployment ill get a cobb stage 2 package, sways and coilovers.

id say the access ports are good for a mild hp street car but if u plan on going for a real beast ur better off just using the stock ecu or ems but you will realize once you start modding an evo that power gain are very fast and good luck with your search

Umm, he is going to have a biased opinion when he works for the company. Good luck with your new car.

there werent STi's in 03 bub, and for your wrx to be faster than most evos (or wutever) you must have had A LOT of $$$ in that thing (tranny alone, since 02-03's are weak as heck).
gota raise the BS flag
