I know CA is strict, but in general, you can pass emissions if your ECU thinks you have functioning smog equipment. Therefore no CEL. If you have the stock ECU, unless they do it different in CA, they should just plug in, run the test and you should be on your way. I'd leave the HFC on.

ok cool, can that turbo run 25 or 26 psi easy, i am also doing S1s and headstuds, springs and retainers, i like to play it safe then sorry, i was thinking bigger cams but prolly not in cali, unless someone has a better cam than the S1s and smog legal with almost no lope, not a lope guy either,(previous vehicles loped bad, and not on purpose)

you can easily run 29lbs with the red, ive seen it done on numerous 8 and 9 turbos... and the red is just a beefier 9 turbo... SAME exact shell

The S1's are better than the HKS 272's IMO. A lot of guys like Kelford too. Check them out.

I was running 25 psi on 91oct no problems at all...It's all in the tune. More boost=less timing generally or you can run less boost with more timing. Just depends on the tuners approcah.

But to answer your question, YES you can run 25psi on 91oct, esp with the red
