Looking to buy Evo X MR

Hey everyone. This is my first post here! I am in the process of selling my beastly Mazdaspeed3 and want to move back into the world of AWD. I have been all over the place looking at cars... Dodge Challengers, GT500's, Infiniti, Lexus, MINI (LOL), yes, I have been everywhere, driving anything just hoping to find that one car that will fulfil my needs and wants. I love love love the GT500's but I am afraid it is to big for me and I dunno, its still a Mustang...

I owned a WRX MY 2002 bugeye with minimal mods and I loved the **** outta that car. It was fast and it handled and the powerslides were priceless! I have seen the MR's and I really really like the looks inside and out. I have never driven one but I am sure its nothing short of heaven! If I get one I would have to do a trunk swap with a regualar Lancer..lol. I just want a car I can drive ...possibly be doing long trips to NC from FL and some shorter trips but I need a car thats comfortable for that, but then a car I can rip around town in and have fun with. Mods will have to be minimal because I just came out of a heartbreak with mods and all that crap so I am gonna take it easy in that dept. for a bit.

How does everyone like their MR or GSR. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Love,
Chris

oh and the paint is really weak! You will scratch it very easily.

Thanks for the reply! How does the MR drive and handle? Do you mean an aftermarket tune?

ya I mean an aftermarket tune, as these cars run super rich. It drives nice, but I am a little worried that the tranny won't hold up to the 400whp I want to put down. Besides that I love it.

I love my MR. Just like yourself I drove tons of new cars to find the one I liked the best. The EVO may not have the best fit/finish, or reputation for rock solid reliability, but it sure did drive the best by a wide margin. If you want a clean daily driver with luxury look elsewhere, but if you're in the market for a car that drives nearly perfect out of the box I don't think you will find a better candidate.

I have on 06 MR, and an 08 GSR I also test drove the 08 MR I did like it but I felt that it was easier to just let it shift on it's own in whatever setting I put it at rather than using the paddles. The paddles aren't as responsive in feeling as the normal manual shifter. I know that it actually shifts faster in .5 seconds it just feels wierd. I really enjoyed it though. I was happy that it included blue tooth which the GSR dosen't. My Outlander also has the Paddles and I realize it's an automatic not an automatic manual, but I rarely ever use them.
