When will prices depreciate more for Evo IX?

I've been researching for about 5 months now, waiting to pick up a Evo IX for the right price within my budget(aprox 20k). But it seems that this car doesn't depreciate as much as, lets say, the general market itself. Every car has been dropping in prices substantially but Evos are hard to come by with a killer deal. Given the average usage of a used car, so lets say 10k miles a year, so with 30k miles, clean, near stock, no accidents. When do you guys think the prices for 9s will drop to 20k and under?

you would think with the economy that the price would have gone down a bit, and yet they really havent. Finding a near stock evo is hard enough, let alone one for a good deal. Don't hold your breath on finding what you are looking for for the price you want anytime soon.

The prices aren't going to go down much. The IX, like all Evo models in the U.S. haven't sold a great amount per year and are all therefore becoming more and more rare. If the prices do go down I would get one quick, because they will all go up IMO.

well i saw a really great deal its just too bad i don't have the funds on hand right now. It was a WW 9 with 15k miles, very clean, 2 sets of rims (advan RS + stock w/snowtires), near stock, for 23k. I'm still trying to find the funds for it right now to try and hop on this deal but finding 20k quick is not so easy

My opinion is that the prices will be pretty much the same or higher by next year.

*EDIT* All I really hope is that it takes atleast 10 years for the hondaiy boys to afford one.

I think most prices asked on these forums are grossly inflated. Yes, there aren't many of them but people right now don't have the cash to buy toys.

yea thats the problem. I don't feel safe buying a car and having it shipped, then finding out the car engine has been molested, gears grind/slip, etc. I much rather find one thats in the area so at least i can test drive it. I see great deals all over the place just not in NY lol. I wouldn't feel safe buying a car that I can't test drive to feel first hand if everything is fine with it. the prices here are i guess normal, i wouldnt say grossly inflated, just slightly

It's going to be hard finding a IX under 20k... EVO hold their prices pretty well... Can't say much for the new ones, but i'm hoping USDM EVO will become one of those classic cars like the FD or FC or maybe SUPRA... 93 cars still going for 20k

yea i hear ya on that...I definitely think the evo will become a classic. Every now and then I see a 4,5,6,7 on sale and they're pretty hefty in price for a 90s car. My all time favorites are 5(most beast), 6(best spoiler), 7(close to the 9 look, thats y i like the 9 so much ). If i can land my hands on any of those I'd gladly rock it like a high schooler rockin their iroc in the 90s :P but finding those are like a needle in a haystack...so i shall settle for the 9, well not much to settle, the 9 is sexy as hell too. damnit 9 drop in price more please!

Never!
I hope...
It's funny that you mention that you'd like a near-stock example. I'm the same way. I wanted a car that hadn't been molested by the previous owner. When you see cars with a bunch of mods, you have to wonder if the person who did the work knew what they were doing. There aren't a lot of IXs around, and as you can tell from these forums, most evo drivers want to mod & tune, so that means that they don't stay stock for long.

You may have to look for a while, but don't give up. With the economy the way it is, you should start to see some better deals.

probably a year or two the price of 9's will drop down. the thing is they dont make them anymore so they are more rare.
