Joining the darkside!
Just thought I'd say hi.
I am new to evolutionm.net. I just purchased an 08 EVO X GSR. My previous car was a 2005 SRT-4.
I decided to switch to an EVO because I really enjoy autocrossing and my SRT was not terribly competitive in my class (SMST-Street Mod Street Tire).
I was a 6 year forum veteran on SRTforums (member #42 actually), and I hope to be here for a while too!
Thanks,
-Patrick

In Florida we have autocross year around, so I ran my SRT-4 a couple weeks ago during our February event and I'll run my EVO X in stock configuration for the next event in March.
I am excited. It should be interesting having a lot more traction during acceleration. My SRT was modified and had quite a bit more horsepower than my EVO, but it was impossible to put the power down at low speeds. I really had to concentrate on throttle control in the SRT just to stay on track.
So far I have been really impressed with the EVO: I can get on the power much sooner and get in it harder exiting turns. The stock suspension seems to work very well, and the stock handling feels almost up to par with my modified SRT which had Mopar Stage 3 coilovers (by K&W) on it.
I definitely think I should be able to post autocross times in my stock EVO X that are on par or better than the times I could run with my modified SRT.
