Hey guys, i'm debating between
2009 Evo X GSR Premium:
295hp
TC-SST transmission - 6speed
Leather Recaros
S-AWD
Rockford 650watt 9 speaker sound system
Xenos with adaptive lighting
Railiart tail lights
18 inch BBS rims
Full eibach/bilstein suspension
2 piece Brembo brake system
or
2009 Porsche Cayman S:
Face-lift
320hp Direct injection engine
PDK 7 speed transmission
Full leather sport seats
RWD
Bose sound system
Sat+Navi + phone + bluetooth
19 inch Carrera 2 rims
Normal Porsche suspension
Normal Porsche brakes (non ceramic)
Performance wise, it should be similiar. Right?
I'm not sure which handles better, but i'm guessing the evo? Because of the S-AWD?
Price wise, the Cayman S is almost $20,000 more.. Service + maintainece will definetely cost more too..
Interior of Cayman is way nicer than the crappy mitsubishi interior.
What do you guys think I should go for?

I've driven the S and it's a great car, but RWD means it will be a different experience and the S is not going to serve as a real car.
Basically I feel the Evo handles better, plus it will always be better if the road is less than ideal....wet, snow, sand/dirt and so on. It also has real back seats.
Some might not agree but here in NYC no one...and I do mean NO ONE even notices a Porsche, BMW or Mercedes. They are everywhere, like VW bugs. The Evo is rare and gets far looks if that interests you.
But in the end we have two cars which both handle great...except one has AWD, real back seats and offers better feedback at the wheel. One is a real car when required and the other is a toy.
I like the Porsche, but the Evo is rare, exciting and....AWD.
Not contest even at the SAME price.

hey kareem, I've been lurking around here for a while wanted to stay that way for a while, but I have to speak up here, because I'm from the GCC as well and I might be able to help you decide, first off let me tell you I had a similar problem as yours and let me tell you that the only person that can tell you what to buy is your self, but let me try and help.
if you want the better car to track mod and have fun in the 5MT GSR is the better car, if you want a car that you can drive fast and stay comfy and look good (not saying that the EVO dosn't do that, its just that the Cayman does it better) take the Cayman, but you should also consider the future how long are you planning on keeping the car for, will you sell it later or keep it? and as far as maintenance goes; I don't know about Mitsu Bahrain but I think you will have to service the EVO more than the Cayman (plz someone correct me if I'm wrong) so that Cayman will save you some money there and one more thing you might consider is tuning, the EVO is EXTREMELY EASY and relatively cheap to mod (you just have to wait) where as the Cayman is expensive to mod. another two things you should consider the Cayman will definitely get you more looks (good and bad) , where as the EVO to ppl who are (not in the know) will see it as another Lancer with a body kit (sad but true here in the GCC)

Thanks boost, it's nice to see our brothers from Qatar here too.
I don't plan to track it but I do plan to mod and I do plan on keeping the car for a while..
Right now i'm leaning more towards the evo..
And dude, the SST is so much nicer than the manual and it's perfect for daily driving too.

I'd be very thankful.
Evo may handle better, but you can't ignore the baller status that the Cayman S gives you in comparison. If you like porsche, then go for it, if you feel like saving 20k, then stay with the evo.
