Do you have to change Springs @ Retainers?

Hey guys...so im told that when you put cams in, that you dont have to change your springs or retainers. That the stock ones are just fine. Is that fine or is that no true?

Until a point comes..

Say over 350hp or something.. then its all to hell.

Just change them, might as well since you have the head apart for new cams..

it depends on the lift and duration of the cam... a BC or HKS cam you do not have to.... on a cam like GSC, cossie, kelford you do have to... just look at the factory recommendations and it will tell you....

yes and no!!! small duration cams there is no need... specially if your arent revving high... to do springs and retainers its almost 500 dollars in labor not counting parts... so if you dont have to do them... i wouldnt.... and im all about saving my motor!! cause obviously that is alot more but... you dont always need them!!
