Carbon fiber is an amazing resin, unlike any others! Carbon fiber is used for many things such as bikes, cars [obviously], guitars and many other things. Carbon fiber is literally as strong as steel, without the weight!

All Mitsubishi needs to do is go completely carbon with the evo and use self healing paint which will be hitting the streets before too long!

Fake, my oz had better looking carbon trim than the X. If you actually look at the X's interior it looks nothing like carbon fiber.

If i get carbon fiber doors etc how good will it hold up on a crash test? How much damage will occur to the carbon fiber? I researched it and people are saying its 5x stronger then steel.

Yes, carbon i stronger & lighter, not also more brittle. Unlike steel or Plastic, CF is almost impossible to repair (knock back into shape) once broken or dented (if it can be dented).

Are you hoping you will be more secure if you have carbon fiber doors in the event of a crash? I dont understand.... Carbon fiber is not invincible. If you get into an accident it is going to be ruined just like a steel or aluminum door...

You can't repair carbon fiber! You can't apply bondo to a rough surface and except it take the carbon fibers shape. It would literally look like crap and having carbon fiber doors would be no safer than sheet metal!

carbon fiber shatters when too much stress is applied. Steel will bend when there is too much stress. When manufactured right carbon fiber is alot stronger than any other metal by weight out there.

and there is no carbon fiber parts on the stock evo

Check this out, it's technical but provides pretty much what you need to know about carbon fiber. Btw carbon fiber has no resin, resin is applied to it just like fiberglass and it is usually vacuum molded. Linky Poo ......Tensile strength

i thought i read somewhere on here that said CF doors should be used on race cars with rollcages with side impact support because the CF doors won't protect as well as the OEM doors, seeing as they were made for lightness where the oem doors were more for safety. i might be completely making this up, though i'm an evo noob
