Noob... sort of lol
Noob... sort of lol
Hello EvoM!
I've followed the site here and there for about 6 months now, and i'm just now making a profile... Sad i know lol.
I am currently in the US Air Force, stationed in Aviano AB in Italy. My car is in Washington State. I bought my 2006 evo in December 2008 in Utah soon after i found out that i was being stationed in Italy. The evo has been my dream car ever since they were introduced to the US. The car ran like a charm for the first week or so. I noticed oil puddling in my garage after the horrific scream i heard from the transfer case. i crawled under my car only to find the transfer case to be bone dry, so i filled it with gear oil and it ran better. I noticed a few days later on the aftermarket boost guage that the turbo would spike to 27 psi, even while cruising in 5th gear and slightly pressing the gas pedal. Then, the engine light came on, i coded it and found out that it was turbo overboost (go figure.) About 2 days later (ironically the night before i was going to get the car looked at and fixed) the motor blew up on me, a rod shot through the bottom of the block. Upon further investigation, i found out that the engine had oil leaks (before it blew) the transfer case was completely spider webbed and the driveline was "tack welded" to the transmission. If you know anyone in Utah, i HIGHLY discourage anyone from buying a vehicle from Midway Auto. Not only did they sell me a car that was previously wrecked, but they took the car to a Mitsu dealer to try and get the car fixed via warranty before they sold it. after they found out that (because the parts installed in the car are from a salvage yard) the warranty would no longer cover the fix, they just sold it "as is" and refused to mention the severe problems. From what i hear, i'm not the first case of this from the same dealership. The problem is, it's completely legal in Utah.
Anyway, I'm currently trying to contact World One Performance in Kent, Wa to replace pretty much everything that makes the car go. i emailed them on tuesday and have yet to recieve a response. Not sure how much all of that is going to set me back but i know it won't be cheap lol. I want to be around 650awhp when all is said and done.
Well, i know what everyone comes to the Noob forums for. To see pics!! So i'll post some lol. I'm currently driving a Fiat Coupe' 16V Turbo here in Italy... I got a pic of that too lol

I love these rims

And the 1994 Fiat lol this car is awesome! But doesn't hold a candle to the evo lol. it's only got 200hp stock

It's different... that's why i like it.
So sorry to bore most of you lol. If you have any suggestions on ways to get the evo running again feel free to let me know!!
Thank you!
