what kinda tires to buy??????????

i'm trying to find tires for my car. with spring here and me driving the car on blizzaks, i figure it's time to change,as the tread is getting kinda low on them suckers.
i will be dd'ing the car, so i can't really get all out performance tires, so i need all seasons i'm guessing. anyone know which tires i should get?? as for the size i'm either going to go with 245 or 255 and for the wall i'm going with either 35 or 45 for my stock enkeis, sitting on the stock suspension

Use Falken Azenis RT-615 255/40/18

OR if you're a baller......get some Nitto Nt01's or the Toyo R888!

i do not want to hi jack this thread but i just bought dunlop star spec z1's the size i bought is 235/45-17 but i keep seeing people post sizes like 255/45 and 245/45 ect.. my question is did i make bad move buying 235/45 and whats the difference?

i here the goodyear eagle f1 all season are good! a little pricey at 140 a tire but the tred wear is very low so they should last!

235/45 is a fine choice. People sometimes buy 245/45 tires for the extra gearing it give them in autox. Or another common choice is 255/40 because of the increased footprint resulting in better grip (although on an 8 inch rim sometimes the sidewall has a tendency to roll over but not with a stiff sidewall like the Z1*). Many owners have run a stiff sidewall 255/40 on stock wheels with much success although on a DD street car I admit it's kinda overkill.....

To the OP I would go with 255/40 Dunlop Star Specs and call it a day.

Take a look at nt05's as well. They are now getting raving reviews.
However they don't last as long

I haven't tried the above yet, but it seems that a good amount of people are really happy with the Dunlop Star Specs. Those will be my next tires, and I will try the 255/40 size. I'm currently running BFG g-force T/A KDW at 245/45, which seem pretty good but not the best. The tread life seems really good but the grip is definitely not the same as the stock advans. On a positive note, I haven't had issues in the rain with these, and I do live in the Seattle area.

The Dunlops are slightly less grippy than the stock advans but are way better in the rain IMHO. And at the price they are at they are the best bang for the buck tire in that size. Period.

alright, i'll deff have to look into all the tires mentioned here, and yeah looking for something with a bit of a tread life, since i'm gunna be dd'ing it. gotta first fix my car cuz of right now it eats tires like it's it's job. because which ever master mechanic replaced the t-case on the car before i owned it figured to leave half the subframe bolts out. i'm missing at least half a dozen bolts, including a nut which holds the subframe to the main frame.
gotta love hackers
