thats not even a fair choice man, go evo, plus it comes with a ton of goodies, just check it out thoroughly but you should be very happy with it.

i prefer the 05 STi cuz its the best model built so far, i like the styling better than the evo 9, it has better low end, and the boxer rumble is a muthafuc*in beast. but i guess you should go for the evo if you could get it cheaper and you wouldnt have to repair anything.

i traded an 04 wrx for 04 STi then traded that for my evo x so i think i have a good grasp on the highs and lows on the suby side.

just drive both and see which you like better and never look back. either one is a great choice.

Not to even get into the STI Evo debat but my 2cents

If youjust look at the cars the Evo is a better buy.

A year newer Less miles no problems and its less expensive

The STI is older and it has more miles and its starting to have a little minor problems that may continue.

Find out if they are both on the stock clutch or not that will be the best way to tell how they have been driven

I personally think an Evo does everything an STi does just *slightly* better.

i think this should be a no brainer especially if the evos in good condition cause its cheaper and newer id have to say my buddy has a sti and i drove it.. Well lets say i love my MR wayyy more.. i also daily drive it its not that bad but i hear the sti are better on daily driveing. Overall the evo comes with all that stuff and is cheaper newer less miles?? i mean common?!??! And no im not biased either id love to own a sti

This thread is wayy too bias since its on a biased forum lolz

Just select the one that you prefer after a drive as others have said...
post it here, you'll have everyone saying 'evos'
post it on wrx/sti forum, you'll get everyone saying 'sti for sure'

post it on a general car forums, you'll get alot of different responces like "go the nissan man!!" or something similar lolz

thats what i've experienced from the amount of time i spend on forums and people asking which car to go for haha

I had an 04 STi that I bought new and had it in the high 11's. Drivetrain is pretty stout. I had about 80 hard launches at the track and still had the stock with no carnage..The stock turbo sucks and they're a PITA to work on the engine! IMHO, I think the Evo is a better platform.

sti's leave the track with blown motors, evos leave with blown trannies....cause the evo makes damn good power!

Id grab the MR in a heartbeat, I have an 06 and its a blast. but on the other hand the supra is equally bad a$$ and for 19k in this economy id look into it as an alternative..

Exactly! For some reason the Evo forum tends to **** on the STI with out mercy. Go check out NASIOC or IWSTI. Many guys will actually recommend the Evo over the STI any day of the week.

I guess Subaru owners can actually appreciate the cars for what they are...instead of going "OMG Evo PWNS STI, GET AN EVO!! lolz"

STI's engine were blowing because of ****ty tune. Get a real tune and the engine is just as reliable as an Evo.

And isn't the evo drivetrane known to fail on stock cars. The T/C's are notoriously weak and the clutch is as bad. You don't need more power to break the evo.
