You need to specify a year and what you are comparing it against.

i had a 06 sti. all the basic boltons... protuned. make 289 whp. stock turbo

my evo X... all the basic boltons.. mail in flash.. same dyno.. 340 whp.

meth and protune made 370 whp...
stock turbo.. about to hit 400whp with more boltons..

sti does not compare when it comes to raw power.

I had an 05 STI then eventually landed a IX MR. I get this questions all the time and I usually answer by saying,"they are so the same and differnent at the same time." Fit and finish goes to the STi and ease of maintenance and ease of making power goes to the EVO. I still have a modded WRX so being in my EVO and not in the STI is alittle easier.

i had an 04 sti before my evo x. i miss the low end torque, decent interior, strong clutch, and most of all boxer rumble. oh yeah and the suby community was awesome. a LOT of evo 8 and 9 guys (from my experience) are fu**in douche bags.

in the evo though i now have a greater power potential, and way better handling.

those are the major differences in my mind.

EDIT: i also miss the rawness of the 04 sti. the new evo seems too friendly.

I have to agree with you and the community. I find myself on the Suby sites more then I do this one.
