I see some Evo race cars with inserts in the top of the rear windows that have holes drilled in them and I was wondering what that is for? is it to let air out of the cabin or something?

Air vent for when your front windows are down. I just crack my rears on the track. This is a option if you want to spend money.

 

so they are for when the front windows are down? i never really got this or asked before haha

 

They are for cooling when your windows are up. Some courses require you to drive with your windows up, this allows your windows to be up and still get ventilation. They work better if you have a roof scoop. or a vent letting in air

They also happen to work well letting the air out the back when your front windows are down reducing the swirling effect.

I have them and use them I think they are great, I have my Helmet cooling system rigged to one of my vents.

 

oh cool. that makes sense that the air can be pulled through the front air vents (or a roof scoop) if you have the rear window insert
