I know I'm part of it, but the salesguy pushed me into doing it. I know I went overboard on the launch and I feel bad for doing it to the car. I am a serious buyer and wanted to get an X very soon and will treat it like family. I know a brand new car needs to be treated way better than what I did to it, and I have no intentions to beat on any car whether it's my own car or if it's a test drive car. And just for the record, I have never intentionally abused any car in my life even if I it was a POS car.

I apologize if any soul-bounded Evo enthusiasts on here was offended by my actions.

We all make mistakes in our lives. And some really wasn't intentional and felt bad about it and yet people still rub it in....

Have you driven manual trans cars before? Did it smell like a burnt clutch? If you burnt it so bad it was producing enough smoke that you could see it then I would guess it should have smelt like hell too. if it didnt smell bad then I dont think it was the clutch.

When I test drove an X (not from the dealer where I got mine from), the salesman told me to "comn, rev it some more, go higher so you can feel how much power this car has" (he sounded like he wanted me to redline it) But, I never went past 4K RPM. I had too much respect for the car and I know you are not suppose to go beyond 5K RPM while the car has not yet gone past its break-in period. Dealer lot salesmen usually do not know anything about enthusiast/performance cars. They are there for only one reason... to sell.

something similar happened to me, before I bought my evo I was shoppin around, took a sti out for a test drive, sti had like a little over 100 miles on the motor mostly from moving miles I assume and some test drives,

well me and sales guy were driving around, and I was liking the feel of the car and all, then the sales guy says go ahead punch it a few times, so I did and I was like nice, didn't wanna beat on the car too much since it had hardly any miles on it, after we stopped, he hopped in the driver seat next and said I'll show you what this car can do........and he did lol

drove the $hit outta it and when we got back to the dealership there was white smoke coming from under the hood lol, wasn't a thick cloud, but definitely noticeable, I just said ummmm I'm not buying this lol

damn
hate those idiot
they should have a dedicated test-driven car
not cars that are meant to be sold to customers
those are demo cars
and they are meant to be sold as ex demo cars
not as new car

LOL! I started driving a manual tranny when I was 16. And after 11 years, I still know how to. I will never unlearn that.

Yeah, poor cars. I love evos, but it happens to the best of us. It's actually a GG GSR w/ SSS in Norco Mitsu. So don't buy that hot rod!
