Thinking about selling my Evo.
Its super loud, rattle every where, impossible to listen to music and talk on phone.
22k miles lightly modded Evo 9 GSR
I went to kelly blue book and came out to be around 20-22k trade in value.
I'm thinking about s4, ISF,335i, vette

I'm leaving to korea next month and people told me its better to sell it now before it drops in value even more. So either I can trade in for better car and let parents drive it for little or just sell it. I saw used ISF going for 44k local dealership and caught my eye.

 

why do you want an ISF?

 

why would you buy a car and then go to korea for 2 years?

Sell the evo and buy something you like when you get back!

 

I doubt you can sell the evo in a month...unless you give it up for really cheap. If you need to get rid of it in a month your best bet is trading it in.

 

Just trade it in, Depends on a few things too. Do you still owe money on it? If KBB says 22k, look at the fair value, not the excellent. Dealers never use the excellent value for trade in's.

Just do what everyone does, ask for more on your trade and ask for less on the car you want to buy.

 

Think I can get 22k privately for quick sale or do I have to go down to 20k?
Really dont know what to do.
My friends said sell it like you guys and get something when I come back.
I think its too much hassle to sell privately.
I heard good thing about ISF but that is just one of car I'm looking at
Also thinking about previous M3 and newer M5.
Its fun car but not really good dd. I'm looking for something that is fast as evo but more quiet and luxurious interior.

I have a friend interested in purchasing an EVO... Now when you say loud and rattles, can you elaborate, is in good condition?

^^ Of course its in good condition. Rattles and the loudness is all part of an evo!

 

Yea true however I've had mine for about 4yrs now and the loudness you're just going to get use to it... I had 3 people in the car one time and the 2 that were in the back were my in-laws, we were headed to a town about 1 1/2hrs away... I felt bad for them. I never put put in the back unless I have to

edit.... It's an EVO...not a BMW...

 

loudness and rattle is normal. Even stock exhaust is loud.
All interior is made of plastic so you hear plastic rattle when driving dirt roads.
Overall its in good condition. No problem for 3 years except I had few scratch on back.
Right now I'm looking around for car but if I cant find it on time I'll have to keep it.
My parents and my bro is working and dont have time to sell my car.
Good thing about keeping my evo is that I have about 2 more years of payment left.

People who rides in backseat of my car never rides it again after going through loud exhuast noise.

 

generally cars depreciate. Owning a car for 2 years and not driving is like throwing money in the trash.

If you are going to own a car and not drive it you are better off with the evo. I would not be surprised if the evo ix gsr with low miles is worth more than that ISF you saw in 2 years. THe evo ix is the last and best of its type of evo.

 

spoken from a true evo ix owner... lets not start that debate, i got to be honest, i think i would rather have a 10 but that is for another day.

I would keep the car and sell it when you get back.

Lexus ISF is a sweet ride dude, very comfortable awesome back end on that car.

 

Went to see X and I was surprised. Its huge but also the design is not too bad. But my local dealership is selling 08 for only 2k rebate OR 0% APR full MSRP. Ripoff for 2008 car.
I'm going to keep it if I cant sell it or if I cant find car I want.
My parents are surprise to see trade in value is still over 20k.
My bros 06 350z is worth less than 20k on bby

 

The X is a great car and better for some. I waited until the X came out then decided I would rather have the nine and had to find one quickly. I had the choice between paying nearly 40k for a new one, and 31k for the one I got with 4000 miles. The ix will hold value because of people like me who prefer it to the X. If the XI captures the good qualities of both the ix and x than the value may of the ix's may take a hit when the xi comes out. IN todays economy I do not foresee the xi being released any time soon.
