Long story short I lost second and third, I have a 2003 evo 8. My buddy had a an extra 5 speed from his old evo 9 laying around. everything looks like its going to bolt up perfect. will this work? or would i have to take the gears out of the new tranny and put them back into the old trans? any help would be great.

yup, only downside is 4th is shorter but you do get a longer 1st
