Exclamation Lost in the Evo Madness!!?!?

Hi guys, I've been a lurker on the forum for a while now so excuse the first post but I didn't want to ask too many questions and I've been going through the searches to check the older topics discussed.

Ok now I'm a new Evo X previous Audi RS4 owner living in Saudi Arabia, and I thought this car would be much faster as standard but to be honest it feels a bit underpowered, I've got 2 white stock Evo Xs sitting in the parking lot and I'm lost as to what to do for some serious horse power gains.

Now I've gone through many websites and companies looking at what would be the next step to take, I've looked seriously into getting everything from AMS but are they really worth it? I mean is it just the name that I'm paying for or does it justify itself by giving me actual HP gains? Would Jun or HKS be better (money not being an issue)

What I'm after is a sort of all in one package upgrade to boost the power to around a realistic 500 Whp. I don't want to buy small bits a pieces but I want to buy a bunch of goodies to fit all in one go and gain some serious HP as well as Sound. I don't care if the car is too loud or anything like that, but I want it to be a bearable daily driver (even though it will not be a daily driver).

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated, I'll update you guys With pics and vids whenever I get a chance, I'll try and post some pics tomorrow if I get a chance but for now anything that'll satisfy my power needs would be great

If you're looking for a faster car (straight line speeds) you should have never considered the X! I still for the life of me can't understand how you guys can say the X is underpowered of slow?

It's not that it isn't fast, BUT coming from an RS4 I would have to say the RS4 is much faster stock more so than the Evo.

All I'm really asking is what can I do to add more Power give me 400-500whp? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

if you are considering AMS, their parts are legit. Good prices and they make great power, but they don't exactly make everything, you will have to buy certain things seperate (cams, turbo, etc)

just do one company, AMS is good but i think they overprice their parts, Buschur is good, i personally deal a lot with MAPerformance, those guys have great service and they will tell you straight up what works and what doesnt....

AMS is not just a name.... Actually, they've never been a "company" per se... They're a reputable shop that specializes in Evo's, and have made big strides in both the XIII, IX and now the X. They have a winning formula in both the 1/4 mile, and as Ryan Gates is proving over and over, in the Time Attack series with his AMS TA X. So, what I'm trying to say, is that AMS would have everything you need for your power needs. I even think pretty soon, their turbo kit will be out. But you don't have to stick with just them either, as HKS has a huge list of parts, BUT they ARE more expensive, but that doesn't really pertain to you. And they have a coilover setup, which I believe AMS does not. Bucshur, MAPerformance, GST Motorsports (especially if you wanna go with the E85 setup)..So it depends on who you want in your engine bay. I agree that most parts are meant to be used with eachother in respects to the manufacturer and would guarantee fitment. Mixing things up doesn't hurt, but it would be a lot easier just to contact AMS or any shop, and buy in bulk. Man, I'm jealous that you can think like this! Have fun modding the shiz outta your X's.... By the way, why did you get two? And why the same color? Are they both GSR's? If you have MR's, that'll change your route completely, as 500 whp for the MR is, as of now, unheard of. Good luck!

Couldn't have said it better myself Olaboy. AMS is awesome, great shop, high level of quality, their turbo kits are the most complete kit in the market.... I wouldn't know though, LOL Good group of guys and will go back to them when I start the new project

I too would chose a company and work with them....

Thanks for the feedback, and actually the two Evos I have are MRs but one is a 6 speed auto and the other is 5 speed m. Does the extra money for the HKS or others justify the extra cost? btw here are a few snaps of the cars, I'll try and get some better ones in the morning sometime:

Not in oil business, and the only problem with shipping the car over to AMS is that eventually they'll have to tune it and I don't think it'll cope with the temps we have over here, we're averaging 104F, so I think it'll be better to have everything installed over here and tuned here. Plus shipping documents would take forever.

My opinion:

I think the basic bolt-ons (exhaust, test pipe, down pipe, intake, FMIC, boost controller) and a solid tune would make you think you're driving a completely different vehicle. Then when you're ready, pick up an FP RED, some bigger injectors and retune. After that just go easy on the stock clutch (or get a twin) and wait for a solid, proven engine build method for that 4B11. I don't think that's too far away.

As far as brands, AMS makes proven quality products. Buschur does too, but I would lean toward AMS.

Oh, and stay away from meth.

i see,we also get pretty hot weather over here in the inland empire we also average from low 90's to high 90's. but regarding ur evo, ams would be ur best bet but just be aware that its not going to all ams products ur also gonna get other brands just mix and match bro.
