Buying evo this weekend!!!

Hey my name is chris i am 18 and i am buying an 2003 evo this weekend if everything goes well. An evo has been my dream car ever since my friend first showed me one. My first car was an acura rsx type s so i am excited to have a car with some torque. I will post pictures if the deal goes through. I just wanted to introduce myself and get into the evo forums.

ya i know i test drove it the other day and i'm itching to get back behind the wheel. I didn't even get to feel the full potential as soon as the road opened up and i started to actually give it some juice the dealer goes "whoa easy now"

That's funny. My dealership was saying that they didnt want to offer a test drive unless we were sure that we could make a deal. I laughed at him. 5 min later I was ripping that thing down a small street. He was just quiet.

That's what some of them just don't understand. Let the car do all the sales work. It will sell itself. It sure as hell isn't the warranty, reliability, or the price...

heck ya you dont own it yet of course he told you to easy up player. Have to make sure your credit is good and everything checks out accordingly. Congrats if you pull it off make sure you save up some funds just in case you have to do a clutch job or something parts and labor can get expensive for a evo if you dont have funds saved up not to mention your buying used so you never know the dealer will tell you anything to get it off his lot.

lol i disagree with this statement completely theres a reason a dealer will not let you drive a evo unless your serious and credit checks out and the deal is possible i remember going to a dealer in texas and they let somebody Test drive a black evo and he ended up flipping it. how do you think that went down and credit not even good enough to buy it. Unless our mitsu dealer knows you and has a personal realationship with you buying cars from them quite a bit no test drives period.

I hope you don't mean that you'd buy the car (or any car) without driving it like it was meant to be driven first. Why would you buy something when you don't even know what it feels like to be driven like it was made to be driven?

If I am asking to test drive it, I am serious about it. You can't risk losing sales when you 'think' someone isn't serious about buying the car. I'll just go to the next Mistu dealer and buy from them.

Nobody goes through a credit check before they test drive the car...You have to want to buy it before you get to that part.

Flipping an evo on a test drive...That's like saying someone flipped a civic test driving it. It sure wasnt the car's fault. Completely unrelated, bad drivers are everywhere.

I don't know where you've been buying cars, but I would stay away if the requirements for a test drive are "personal relationship from you buying from them" history. Here's the way it's supposed to work: Customer walks in interested. If the salesman is good, the customer will agree to test drive and talk figures. Pending results of the test drive, customer and salesman sit down and talk numbers and credit. Not the other way around.

well when i went i didnt even ask to test drive the car, i am not going for joy rides i have cash and am ready to buy a car the salesman offered to pull it around front so we could take it out so of course i agreed and i agree that you shouldn't have to have your credit ect. checked first if i get grilled with a bunch of questions i am not going to be very interested in buying from them and they also had a copy of my drivers license i am guessing in case i did crash so they had all my info. Anyway i had a pretty good experience at the dealership my salesman was a young guy said he was 21 and acted like we were friends he didnt pressure me much and i felt like he was really trying to get me a good deal and yes i know that all salesmen are supposed to do that but he was either really good at what he does (at only his 3rd month as a car sales man) or he was truly genuine he even told me to find him on facebook haha
