Yes very noticeable gains in power, tq, and overall drivability, the gas mileage comes down to how much you can control your right foot. Gas mileage if driving the same way should be noticeably better because the evo comes pig rich from the factory.

I apologize for my newbie questions..but i have more. Wuts the difference from the OEM reflash and the dyno tune?

+1 on having Ivey do your tunes. The tune from sucks! Plus Ivey will get you another 50-80 whp just from their tune I'm willing to bet.

Basically the OEM reflash is exactly what it sounds like, an updated map from Mitsubishi done as a blanket fix for all the cars out there. It is not done to maximize power or torque, it is a very (in some peoples opinions overly) safe tune. The oem reflash is not a performance minded operation.

Our reflash on the dyno is tailored to each specific car. There is no "basemap" that we load and put into all the cars, each one is treated as a different entity because even between two stock cars made the same day in the same factory there are usually slight differences between the two.

Hope this clarifies it a bit!

A good question since I wasn't sure what he was talking about, either. The two basic options (and I'm still a n00b myself) seem to be to buy a Tactrix cable, log some runs through the RPM range on the street, and email the results to someone to tune it (called an email or street tune) OR you go in to a shop with a dyno and they'll use all of their equipment to take care of it.

They can get closer to all of the power out of your car (and in a lot less time) on a dyno. Most tuners are going to go conservative on an email tune since they don't have your car on a wideband 02 meter like they will in the shop. A possible plus for taking the Tactrix approach is that you might learn more and once you have the cable you can do stuff like read/reset check engine lights...might be quicker than getting a dyno appointment as well.

In case you can't tell, I'm debating which way to go right now.
