Question about changing parts when car is already tuned....

Hey,

I am picking up a EVO IX on Sunday....I just have a quick question....

If a car is already tuned (ECU Reflash) with the mods it has now: mbc, uicp, licp, intake, tbe, and walbro...If I swap out a different exhaust or intake...will that mess with the tune?

What if I upgrade the IC, will I need a retune for that or would I be ok?

Thanks!

Intake yes, exhaust yes, IC probably not.

The only one I'd be careful about is the intake since it can adjust your a/f ratio. If you have a gauge then you could do it and check that.

You may not get all of the power possible with the fmic or exhaust changes but I don't think there's any risk to it.

You will have to be careful of the exhaust also. If you are running a test pipe then you can't put the stock cat on without a retune. Also don't mee with the boost levels

^^good point. You can go less restrictive on exhaust without a tune but not the other way.

Anytime you add or remove parts you will need to redyno/tune your car.
