reaching 400-425 hp goal.

Ok so in my sig you can see my mods, my goal is 400ish and the plan is start time attack. So im looking for a good smooth power band and fast spool. So the question is do I stay with the stock IX turbo or should I consider replacing the IX turbo. Or is there another ruote I should be looking at? The goal is to be a smooth TT car that is also driving almost daily. The other concern is that im in AZ so pushing the IX turbo becomes more of a problem with the heat and dirty fuel.

Looking for feedback so I can plan accordingly and this is for the power of the car, I have my mind set for handling. Thanks!

The question is on what dyno. Dyno Jets read alot higher than the mustang and Dyno Dynamics. I assume since you already were tuned on a mustang dyno, than thats what your going back to. Fp red or the bbk full are for sure going to get you to the power level you want.

I wouldnt run the red if your doing open track stuff. Drag race or street its fine but I have seen one or four to many blow up at the track. I would go with the BBK for your goals and if you have e85 available run some of that as well since the eth fights the heat a bit better. If you plan to run 91 your not going to meet your 400 goal without going to something thats way too big for what you want to do.

Here we go again. Don't let him steer you away from an FP Red. He seems to be the only one who has seen so many blow up at the track. However, I do agree with the rest of his statement. In your situation you would probably want to run a BBK for your setup and if you're trying to do it on 91 then you're in a tough spot unless you can run E-85.

I would stay away from anything that comes out of Blouch (BBK). I had their Dominator 3 turbo on my STI that had to be sent back to Blouch three times because they cant make a good turbo.

I thought about E-85 but its not to easy to come accross and since it is driven a lot outside of the track that option becomes unrealistic. I forgot to mention when I do run on the track I blend vp100 with 91 (50/50) and on the setup now it goes to about 348hp when blended. So 400-425 would be on the blend fuel. ARP Headstuds already in place, as well as S1 cams.

Doing the Full Injen LICP and UCIP with the intake pipe, plus intake mani and exhaust mani be a good idea? then its the same question as to stick with the IX turbo or something else I suppose. right now I can run about 23-24 psi on the blend fuel without knock issues but I know if I push any more the air becomes to hot and knock will most likely occur.

Still sounds like the BBK may be the way to go if your power goals aren't going to change. I'm sure you'll be able to tune the BBK to 24-25psi without a problem.

you might even be able to run more than that with the BBK on pump

I honestly thought they made it in house. Maybe some parts are made by blough like the compressor wheel or something. I don't know anything about assembling turbos so I could be way off base. Oh well.
