New Evo Owner!

Hello all! I registered last week sometime but took forever to get my account approved!

Any who, first time poster and haven't been on these forums very much before I bought my Evo. I think I know all the "codes" for my car... its a RR (rally red) GSR (obvious) with the SSS (spoiler, skirts, & sound). I really wanted one that had the MMC (the screen & HDD is what I really wanted, NSM the nav) but I was really happy when I found the pre-installed audio inputs hidden behind the ash tray.

Problem was that they didn't give me an owner's manual or anything instructional. I got the Sirius radio flyer, the thing about the wheel locks, and some other misc paperwork but nothing else. Dealer says 4-6 weeks. WTF!

Since I just sank most of my money into the car and insurance (not bad but not cheap either), I would like to know what some of you have done as your first mods to the GSR. I'm hoping that I can at least hold off long enough for the warranty to expire before tweaking it up but who knows!

Congrats w/ the new X! What year is it? Not a lot of members here like red, but it's my 2nd favorite (next to WW)... and I have the same color too. Enjoy the car! If I had the $$, but don't want to spend much at first... I'd go with a 3" catback exhaust and a professional tune. Shouldn't cost you over $1K total.

Yeah then you might as well start saving for a clutch. Congrats on the new car!

Wow, can't believe I forgot to say the year... it's an '08 Evo X. I really like the Red but my second color would have been the Grey (GG?). The white is also def nice, but with the looks of our Evos, you might have to work at a color that makes it look horrible.

Also, I'm on Maryland's Eastern Shore. Anybody else out this direction?

Also, I'm prob gonna get some winter/all-season tires/rims for the upcoming season. I haven't searched deeply yet but if someone has some great advice about tire/wheel combos, that would be great. I also plan on searching so don't flame me immediately for not searching first.

My first set of mods were Buschur Racing Stages 1-3 ( Air intake, mass air pipe. upper and lower intercooler pipes, front mount intercooler, catback exhaust with bullet muffler and a tune. I did all the mods at the same time so I wouldn't have to get it tuned more than once. Congrats on getting a X, enjoy and welcome!!
