Former STI owner just got a new X MR!

Hey guys just wanted to say Hi.

I had a 2006 STI for the past 3 years and just traded to a 2008 Mitsubishi Evo X MR. So far I love this car. So much fun.

Forgive me for the photos...I don't have much room to work with in my parking garage...the lighting sucks ***. It's also been bad weather all week in Chicago so any outside shoot has been rained out.

The STI was Stage II protuned (300whp/340wtq) and was setup very nice for Autocross. It was plenty fast...but always still felt like it was missing something. The Evo MR in stock form feels just as planted, sure has more body roll though , and just as fast due to the TC-SST.

The STI did feel "faster" due to the 2.5L engine that is torque happy. But the Evo still has a nice kick to it

Agreed. Glad I made the switch.

No, Like I said the STI was way too prepped for AutoX so DD became a chore. I'd rather have a much smoother car. Feels GREAT in the stock form, something I could not say for the STI.

So far I love it! Auto mode is nice for the drive to work where I don't need to be going any bit fast.

But it has the option at just the flick of a switch. It's literally the best of both worlds.

I still love the STI. So much more raw then the Evo. At least my modded one was compared to a bone stock X MR. I do enjoy that though.

No, I got the MR from a Nissan dealer in Glendale.

I'm glad i'm one of the few that has had both. It's still a bit too soon to see which is the 'better' car but the few days I've had the Evo are really making an impression. I think I know how this debate will end.
