6-Spd Tranny Fluid

Looking to change the fluids in the new car. What is the recommended Transmission fluid to use in my VIII MR? I usually go with Redline product in past vechiles but I keep seeing "only to be used w/5spd"?

Castrol syntorq or amsoil. Aside from those you'll want to stick with diaqueen.

I did some research for a really good 1g dsm tranny gear oil, and all the big shops told me the best thing they have seen lately is the Mitsu EVO MR 6speed gear oil. I have it in my awd laser now and so far no problems. Set me back $84 for a 4litre jug though

That is the same thing they are referring to above. A MR is a 6 speed. Its called Super Diaqueen Multi-Gear Oil 75W-90. That is what I use in mine, It is getting a little notchy and I am looking to change it up, just haven't heard a solid opinion on a better solution...

Is this on your EVO IX or another car? How many miles? What's your driving style and do you do any racing?

I use AMSOIL 75w-90 in mine with no issues after 15k or so. This is with some track time and autocross along with daily driving. It's a little notchy on the 1-2 when cold, but after a couple of minutes it's smooth as glass.

Thats my choice of fluid as well, it seems not so popular in the states. They don't know what they are missing with the Silkolene products. Pete
