Introduction

What up fellow Evo lovers? I have had my Apex Silver 05 VIII since new years eve 04 and I still love it! Just graduated nursing school and finally have time to work on her. Got a few plans up my sleeve, and am anticipating using this site as reference to my mods. I don't want to go too crazy and make this thing look and act "riced" out, just going for a classy Evo.

Got the reprogrammed ecu, hi flow cat and bigger downpipe from Vishnu. Why do some people talk crap about them?? I am happy with mine.

Has anyone heard of GST Motorsports in San Ho? How is their work? I am interested in tuning this thing up some, but want to keep it drivable on the daily. What else can I do to her without opening up the motor? I want to squeeze out all that I can without upgrading turbos/cams/pistons etc. What kind of performance can I expect with the bolt on mods available? I would like to keep it simple and drivable. Don't care for loud pipes and lopey idle (I'll save that for the Z06 when it comes to me).

BTW shes got 72K miles, all put on by ME!

Thanks for being here. I'll be in touch... L8

Most of the long-time regulars are familiar with Vishnu and GST. You may want to run a quick search. I'd strongly suggest discussing your needs with Bryan from GST and booking an appointment. Good luck.

It all depends on what drivable means to you. Finding out will be the fun part

Without cams, exhaust or fuel options, you're best bet is a good tune and bump up in boost. If you're stoked at the power that your evo makes now, then a tune and boost bump will have your smiling for sure! My first tune got me about 305WHP (bone stock, no bolt ons) on the dynomite at 21PSI. It was fun while it lasted,...then threw on some cams, IC with U&L piping, QTP DP with cut-out (quiet closed / very loud and +30WHP when open). Re-tuned it and ran slightly higher boost...it put down 383WHP/373WTQ (with opn cut-out) and is still very drivable on stock cluth.

Good Luck to you, and enjoy!
