Evo 9 MR shifter on a Evo 9 SE

does anyone have any clue if the evo 9 MR shifter will fit on a standard 5 speed shifter???? i am thinking about buying one for my 5 speed but not sure if it will fit?

Evo MR mystery question!

anyone that has taken a mr shift knob off? or does anyone know if the 6 speed shifter fits on the 5 speed shifter cause they should just swap, right?
i can not find anywhere that says specifically and i dont wanna buy $100 shifter just to find out!

If you mean the threads on the shift lever, then yes they should be the same. Theres a people with an MR knob in there 5 speed.

yea - i just looked again, for some reason I thought I saw shifter knobs listed differently for MR. Must of been late, or I had one too many beers... Sorry about that

i might be wrong, but doesn't the MR knob have a diagram for 6 gears? seems kind of poser'ish to be putting it on a 5-speed...

no it wont fit because the mr has an extra gear

yeas itll fit, same thread pattern but let unsuspecting drivers know before they throw it in reverse at 60mph

no it wont fit! you know i've been looking everywhere for a short shifter but i guess they dont make short shifters for the 6 speed! man it sucks!

why would you want to have a 6-speed knob on a 5-speed car? If you want a knob that looks like that (actually better) but has the correct 5-speed pattern, look for it in japanparts.com they have the OEM mitsu one for 5-speed cars, I have it on my car also and it is pretty cool.

sweet thanks a bunch! exactly what i am looking for but still just kinda curious if the real 6 speed one would fit? it kinda makes me wonder?

well you can buy a replacement sticker that shows the 5 speed that fits perfectly on the 6 speed and i like the feel of the 6 speed shifter so that's why i was wondering? just to make it clear
