Save lots of money...

EDIT: USE AT YOUR OWN RISK, ONLY WITH PEOPLE YOU REALLY TRUST!!!!

Hello mods and EvoM members,

I think this what I'm about to post is a very important post that everyone should read before using ANY for sale section, that includes Vendors and Private.

It's a very simple process to use when paying or buying through paypal that will ultimately save maybe hundreds of dollars to either the vendor or buyer.

We all see the the phrase "please add 3% if using paypal." Well if you use this process which is really easy you will save that money and can use it for more mods A 3.25% fee(current fee) in paypal on a $1300 FPRed(avg. market price) is $42.25 that both parties are just giving away to paypal. So on to the process.

When in paypal:

1. Select "Send Money"

2. Put in the address to send money(xxx@xxx.com) and amount($xxx.00).

3.Select "Personal tab"

4.Select "Payment Owed" option

5.Select Bank Account (won't work with credit card) as funding source or have the money in your paypal account.

6.Write the shipping address in the comment section

7.Done

It's so simple to use and if I had used it in the past I would have saved myself a couple hundred dollars when selling my parts or buying stuff.

I know a lot of people might know how to use this process but after starting my FS. ETS 3.5 IC thread, I found out that 95% of the people PM'ing me had no idea of what I was talking about.

That's why I vote to have this process STICKIED in ALL the FS sections in the forum I'm sure all the vendors would love to save that extra 3% that could be used for shipping costs and buyers would love to save that extra cash

You should only buy from people that you know or with good feedback, if you got scammed its really your own fault and you cant blame anyone else. Why would you not use this process with a certified vendor? they have nothing to gain if they scam you.

This concept COMPLETELY voids you from any and all protection applicable to you by paypal. You receive zero buyer and zero seller protection of any kind.

OP - This is a VERY VERY bad tip.

While paypal may not solve each and every case - I have utilized their services on many accounts saving me over 700 dollars at one point. None of these dispute services at all would be available if using this method.

Again - buyer and seller beware - this is a fraud case waiting to happen.

The method you mention is if you have already gotten your item or service and are paying a remaining debt. Not for the purchasing of a new item or service.

What protection do you need when you know the person selling you the item wont scam you??? I have used this when selling parts and will continue urging the buyer to pay this way because I don't feel like covering fees. If the seller has good feedback I see no reason why I wont use this method to save me and them some money. I was just making a suggestion but I guess some people fear that they will get scammed, which is understandable. I'll leave this thread up for discussion, come on guys don't buy something from the guy that lives 1000 miles away and only has 51 posts with zero feedback.

I also think that credit card fraud through will be avoided this way because it forces the buyer to pay from a source where the money actually exists and it's almost impossible to fraud using a bank account because of the way that paypal authorizes it.

And I am about 99% sure it violates paypal's terms of use. Which would terminate your account and likely forfeit any money you have there.

Seriously I dont see why this would be a problem at all, if you show me where it says that I can't send money to anyone I want I'll believe you. If its because of putting in the address I'll just have the buyer tell me where to ship the item through PM and problem solved.

Its really a use at your own risk type of thing, thats why they have the family/friend section there to. Things like this is why everything is soo damn complicated cause someone is always trying to get over on a company/person etc. Way to many horror stories out there about people getting scam from what people thought was a very good vendor. Then all of a sudden something happens, and vendor just disappears. I can name 2 instances right off the top of my head within the Mazda Community Im apart of. Im not bashing, but sadly the only way one learns to protect itself is by getting burned. Just pay the extra 1.50-2.00 extra and deal with it.

Many of what you guys say are true. I have had an instance where I tried to contact paypal to dispute a transaction I pay the seller the right way. Nothing was accomplished. I recently bought a fender and a seller told me to send my funds as "gift" of which paypal didn't charge me fee. I use this twice. Of course it's not good to do all the time but once in awhile and with whom you feel the seller or buyer is trust worthy. OP I doubt this is going to be sticky. I think this thread might be closed or delete out completely. GL

THE PROBLEM IS YOU DONT KNOW! even with someone who has great ratings, they could just screw you, since its free money. You wouldnt but others might take a chance to keep $1000's of dollars and all they would face is a ban on the forum since there is no legal action. I have used it and will in the future maybe, regardless this is breeding grown for people to take advantage of other.
