EBC necessary?
The more and more I read I am realizing that an EBC or even an MBC might be completely unnecessary with the ability to ECU control boost.. maybe a solenoid replacement is more beneficial with a ECU tune? Any thoughts on this guys?
I went from a mbc back to stock solinoid. I have to keep it stock looking. My only complaint is that it doesn't react as fast.
And like Kracka said they are tough to beat. After about my tenth, pull, log and reflash, I was thinking, "Fu(k. If I was setting a mbc I could have done by now!"
Hmmm... now that I look at it, I guess I do have more then one complaint.

I could see why reverting to the stock solenoid would cause boost delay... but they do have these 3-port solenoids out now don't they? Like the Perrin 3 port? I also saw a DIY 3 port solenoid using a GM part. I figure ECU control of boost would be the most precise without having to compensate or worry about overboost, no?
ECU control boost would help with boost by gear and such, but like said, the simplicity of MBC makes it more superior and favorited by most EVO owners.
Different cars like STI's are better for ECU controlled boost, but most tuners will prefer MBC on an EVO for its consistency.
