Cali emissions

Im a Wa state resident starting to look for an evo 9mr. Ive found alot of evos for sale in cali and they are usually cheaper than up here in WA with less miles( i really want a white one). My main questions is with California's reputation for really strict emissions is there anything from the factory that is different for evos in the state of CA versus if I bought a car sold elsewhere like oregon or Wa? I had a mechanic friend say that sometimes there are Secondary air and additional egr systems on cars in CA that arent present on cars in Wa.

Thanks!

I know exactly what you are talking about, as my Kawasaki zx6r has a Cali edition with extra EGR/emission items on it, luckily I bought out of state before I moved here...

As for Evo's sold in Cali they have nothing special added to them and you would be surprised to see the amount of mods on some cars caonsidering the strict CARB and SMOG issues we have...

Give South Coast Mitsubishi a call and ask for Sam, he'll point you in the right direction with a SMASH...

good luck...

Like what o-townFLA said, all Evos in all fifty states are identical. Only a few cars these days have California-specific variants (with one of the Lancer trim levels being one of them). Find the Evo you want and get it.
