What is the important thing about the offset of a rim. Why does it matter.

 

The lower the offset the more the tire will stick out I think. I'm not 100% clear on offset either.

 

offset is the distance of the wheel mounting surface to the center of the wheel. so if a wheel has a 0 offset, the mounting surface is dead center in the wheel. +35 means it's 35mm closer to the outside edge from center.

off set is the distance the actual inside of the rim and where it sits.. so if you go with a 30
+ offset you will have a nice aggressive look to your rims. if you dont want a lip or aggressive look then just dont get offset rims.

 

i dont get that statement???? all rims have an offset.
