fp red supporting mods? ie aem ems
A standalone ECU, such as the AEM EMS, is not required in order to run the FP Red on your Evo. You will need to run a Walbro fuel pump and larger than stock injectors. An upgraded intercooler would also be a nice compliment. Since you have an VIII, then you'll need an install kit too.

Injectors, 255 fuel pump, and a tune should be all you need at a minimum. Springs, retainers, cams, head studs would not hurt either. I would also recommend TBE with cat delete, full set of IC pipes with 3.5-4.0" intercooler. What do you have done to the car already?
Definately upgrade the fuel injectors and fuel pump. TBE exhaust, boost controller and a nice tune. I know people running stock injectors with the Red, but they couldnt make the full potential power of the red because they ended up maxing out the stock injectors. You would be fine with a three inch intercooler as well. I am saving up for my red now.

Yeah that is fine. It will work fine. You can also run the stock intercooler pipes, but I would recommend changing out the lower intercooler pipe. As far as tune, get your stock ecu tuned. The stock ecu is a great ecu and will give you no issues. Also a little FYI, make sure you recirculate your blow off valve.
lol out builds are ALMOST alike lol. you should consider the fp black and also 1000cc injectors and of course better cams fp 4prs or S2. Kelford may have phantom knock with 2.4 so be cariful
