i drove mine from georgia to west PA and it did fine. the exhaust noise was alittle loud but not over bearing and it was actually comfortable. in fact i'm going to CBRD in November. another 1800 or so round trip road trip lol

The only thing that is worth adding is a stereo. I just added an OE HU and (2) REAR speakers (not fronts) . I am perfectly content with the car being my DD.

RS owner for 5 years, 5 winters, 110k miles, bought it brand new, I took even A/C out. plus im running 6 point rollcage and i drive 250 mies per week. Imagine that, but i love my DD gocart.

rs drives same as any other evo's just more noisy, less carpets, manual windows, no abs, no keyless entry, but 05+ RS comes with better roof.

I like it, Less problems, as far electronics.

THIS! do not buy an evo for a daily commuter if luxury and a smooth ride is your thing!

I know that the evo is not a luxery car. I like it because of its performance, but I still need to use it as a DD.

I liked the E46 M3 but on long trips, it hurts my back and maintenance is big $$$.

Get yourself some bilsteins and your in business, the ride quality improves 200% over stock kyb. Milage is a factor of your foot pressure! Thats enough to make it worth while and turn it into the driver you want--

please if you thought the E46 was bad, the recaro seats and the bumpy ride will certainly kill ya in the evo....

I can't imagine anyone here with an honest answer would say that the evo rides better than a E46.... I have driven both and my evo is dropped with a very hard suspension and have put some good miles on them, I would take the E46 over the Evo from that perspective....

Not sure if the Evo would be the best dd that you could pick if comfort and maintance are your issues....

No kidding.....

i am sure you are talking about civics - crx's - integ's that have the crapped dropped out of them I am currently building a crx track car so I am not making fun of the honda bit but seriously....

Go drive an acura TL or RL and let me know if the evo drives better than one of those....

again, the EVO is not something one buys for mileage or because it's recaros are nice and comfy...

I will always opt for an evo as a dd but i don't care about ride quality, if I did, i will buy a TL or a CX7

The Evo is not what I would call a comfort machine but is def more comfy then the all the Honda/Acura's me and my buds used to own [/QUOTE]

Driving an Evo under 4k rpms would be like owning a jeep wrangler and never going off road.

Or having a hot girlfriend and only ever doing oral.

+8.... E46 ride comfort >>>>>>> Evo RS... Yes, really, that much greater. Either that, or you are sitting wrong (possibly gangster style).

DD-ability/comfort would be
RS < Evo < MR

EVOs are really that uncomfortable?

I find the 911 turbos more comfortable than the M3. And M3 > S2000. But the S2000 I drove was lowered with coilovers. S2000 just makes me feel cramped like a kart.

RS is a couple grand cheaper and that is why I am asking. The biggest turn off is the manual windows and power door locks. It makes the car seem so much cheaper in quailty without those 2 items.

i mean we are talking about the evo in terms of DD.. it doesn't have much to start with, getting a stripped version just makes it that much worse

Im surprised no one has said anything about this but. Why an RS? If it's the wing, just get a MR or GSR and remove it. Problem solved, you have your power locks and power windows. If you're doing this because of price wise, don't even get an Evo. Especially if you plan on modding it at all.

With that noted. I have a 04 RS. Seats are nice but sometimes I have to adjust the way I sit. I've driven it 12 hours straight. Wasn't that bad, but wasn't better than my previous car, 04 accord with leather interior. But it wasn't that much worse than my accord that I would want to sell my car because of it. The suspension is fine, bumps arn't really bad with the seats, they dull the bumps. It is a little noisy, but I like it. Thats just me. I daily drive mine everyday, probably 50 miles a week.
