Another Newb.

Whats up guys? As the screen name says, coming over soon. I am in the process of selling my car and trying to purchase an EVO IX. Seems to be the best choice since they are a bit quicker and the X's don't appeal to me.

I am an EVO AND Turbo noob but not a forum newb. I am coming from a 2000 Toyota Celica GTS 6 Spd. I love it to death but the amount of money that it requires for merely 200 WHP is not worth the results.

I was considering an STI but I will say the iron block idea swayed me since my best friends 08 STI blew an engine 4 weeks ago due to the 08 + piston ring issue. Sweet ride, 378 WHP but didnt last long. He has since rebuilt it properly BUT an iron block sounds safer.

Which, after my winded post I actually do have a question. I have had 2 DSM's in my family and met a few people with DSM's or former DSM owners on my Toyo forum and we/they all, (With the exception of a few of course), had nothing but problems. From N/A 1G's to AWD 3G's.

I noticed the EVO 4G63 seems to be FARRRRR more reliable than the DSM versions. Why is that? What revisions, upgrades or updates were made that make it so much better?

Thanks!

stronger internals, eliminated crank walk problem, stronger and more reliable drivetrain! they just improved on a already somewhat succeding dsm's! great choice on the evo although the 10s are amazing and the 4b11s are even greater but the 8-9s are still great strong cars! good luck man hope it all works out!

I prefer the IX's. EVO X I am sure is probably the most powerful but I will only be going as far as a streetable DD with breather mods. So, I will not tap the full potential on any level. Just want I/H/E type mods, audio and suspension

This site seems so organized and full of info.

plus the evos have a great head design, that allows the stock block to push up to 600whp
