There were no 2007 model Evo's produced in the United States. I do believe, however, there were some 07 models built for overseas. They are still the CT9A (Evo IX) body style and all the same features, but they were claimed to have been built in 2007. I have also seen some 2007 Evo hatchbacks or station wagons. They look pretty weird.

There was a very limited number of these. If you search Youtube, you'll find a review vs an Audi RS6 wagon. Look for the one with an English translation.

Yes, the SE trim was very similar to what was available in other markets as a '07.

the 07 models for other markets got small tweaks to the engine, suspension, and differential tuning as well as the cosmetic changes that the SE had. the reason there was no 2007 model was because starting in 2007 the US crash regulations changed and the EVO would have had to be fitted with front side airbags, and front and rear curtain airbags. I believe the emissions standards tightened a bit too. it was cheaper to just not have an 07 model here and just wait for the EVO X in 2010

Perhaps it's something to look into on this side of the pond. Do you have a web reference for that?

ODUB mentioned the reasons for no '07s in the USDM. Mitsubishi, before the X, typically sold ~4000-4200 Evos in the US per year. Toward the end of the 06MY, they imported enough cars to last through the bulk of 07. That's why there were ~8400 Evos IX sold in the US.

there was a video review of the 07 EVO by a foriegn automotive journal. it's a guy with a funny accent driving the **** out of a red EVO IX MR on a track. he talks somewhat about the tweaks, but I've also read a few articles that touched on it too. I saw this 3 years ago, so I don't know where to find the info anymore. the video however, I watched a few months ago, but didn't favorite it. it's on youtube somewhere.
