hellaflush look
Hold up, hold up; thread save attempt. I have been looking into this myself and would like to post some insight. Please review the following for reference; Evo's are not designed to be as flush as other cars so give justice where it is due. Don't make it do something impossible only to mess up the car. Make it look functional and flush:

amazing save!! i don't know why "different is bad" more than not.. hella flush on a vw no but hella flush as in the wheels fitting "hella close" lol i think it looks pretty tight, to me its HELLA cheaper then getting flares. esp when, with all wheel drive you don't really need super wide tires on a street car.
Love the pics; no better illustration of the concept to anyone aware of the car's geometry. Those atrocities couldn't even make it out of their driveways without understeering, but what does that matter? They're put together to impress the gullible while parked, standing still, not moving - the very opposite of the purpose of an automobile. Great.

i guess i'm missing the point here but the vw scene's hella stretched/flush isn't functional but vw's aren't really know for their performance anyways, so i get the trend.. with high horsepower street cars where the ability to get wider tired is limited i can understand why the perfect offset can make all the difference with looks and performance. I spent months looking for wheels to put on my 280z with the right offset so i wouldn't rub and to get some wider wheels up under the car
What?! i don't understand, so if my wheels are flush then my car can't handle.. keep in mind the rolled fender stretched tire look has more disadvantages then advantages but it is possible to have flush wheels at stock ride height (so your not actually changing the suspension geometry) and wheels/suspension isn't designed to move fowards or backwards, but up and down at an angle with ifs and irs, even with a solid rear axle the wheel will just move up and down, with the right offset you could fit more rubber under the car which is a good thing..
