Not an EVO owner, but hello!
Hi-
My name is James and I drive a 2008 Mazda Mazdaspeed3. I came across this forum during my search for wheels--I was googling different wheels for sale when a recent thread popped up here on evolutionM. I joined the site to be able to talk with the seller, but then realized he might think I am some scammer or something (it was within a few hours of his posting first appearing). Then I found it takes 50 posts and 30 days to be able to post in the For Sale sections. But I can still send PMs, right? I can be found extensively over on Mazdas 24/7 under the same username, a forum much like this one except for all things Mazda.
Anyways, at least I am honest! I do not know much about EVO's, but if ever there was a site to learn, this certainly is the one! I am totally jealous of the AWD and higher horsepower compared to my MS3, but one year in and I still love my car. Thanks for at least giving me the opportunity to peruse the site and learn a little here and there!

Hey James, welcome to the site! Absolutely great place to read, learn, and hang out. obviously the ms3 and evo are completely different cars, but still factory turbo'd 4 cylinder so its all good.
my dad used to have a speed 6 before just recently getting a X, and have numerous friends with ms3s. there awesome cars, fast, and can hold whatever you want in the trunk! looks like you have a clean car there, nice pic.
again, welcome and feel free to ask any questions. the 50 post thing is a rule, but you should still be able to PM freely. as long as your honest, and dont come across as..umm..shady i guess is the best word, then you will be fine.
im no expert (not even freaking close) when it comes to evos or cars in generally, but feel free to PM me if you have some questions or whatever.
take care and enjoy the site!

Thanks for the welcome! I'm looking at the non-EVO specific parts of this forum and coming across a lot of info that crosses into my MS3 territory! Then I started looking at some older EVO 8's and 9's for sale and wishing I had money to blow on one of those...
I am actually quite picky in what I'm looking for in a wheel. Here are the specs I want to find and the price I am willing to pay:
Wheel must be black--not black with polished lip or black with any color lip--just black
Size: 18x7.5 up to 18x8.5
Offset: High +35 to +50 is good (MS3 have no clearance between strut and hub or whatever...)
Acceptable Models in order of desire: OZ Ultraleggera (My fave!), Enkei PF01, Enkei RPF1, Work Emotion CR Kai, Rota Torque
I would consider other options too, including Advan and other top brands. Knock offs are always good. I was looking used unless someone cuts me a superb deal on a high end set of wheels (AHEM!)....but I was looking to spend under $1000 for wheels, lugs, and centercaps.....which is why I was looking used. Not unreasonable for used, though!
One last thing: WHEELS MUST BE LIGHTER THAN STOCK. Stock MS3 wheels are over 23 lbs. apiece!
Thanks again for the welcomes and all the help!
Edit: Oh yeah, Mazda Hub is 67.1...not sure what the evo is.....
