How much are you boosting?

I'm curious to who is boosting what, and if your internals are stock or not. I have a 7lb spring and push close to that with a t3 super 60 on stock internals.....Thanks

my old setup.. garrett 60trim t3/to4e w/.63a/r
i was pushing...
5psi.. and then 7 psi.. then 10psi.. popped the motor(FYI that is 100% RAGGED TO HELL MOTOR, 120k miles of abuse, and 6 months of boost)
then new stock motor (used 100ish K miles on it) 10psi.. for 6months.. then 15psi.. then popped that motor..
still 15psi, and 20psi at the track.. lasted about 3 weeks till it popped(or i should say 12passes down the track at 20psi)

All of that was stock internals and on pump93 gas!. and i was WOT 24/7.. i abuse my car HARD

reaslistically.. 10psi is safe with a good tune.. 15 can be, but not likely to last long.

My car has right at 124k miles on it.. id figure, 115k of that is at WIDE OPEN THROTTLe, and the other 9k miles is me hard on the brakes, i do seriously abuse the crap out of my car..

my new setup, is built.. will be 24psi on e85.. no other goals as of right yet.

Thats pretty interesting data demon.

Seeing how much boost the stock evo motor can take is pretty amazing. So far I'm at 30psi on a completely stock never opened even once motor. It has of course fuel and turbo mods to make the boost possible but thats it. Probably have over 10k miles at 30psi. Most of the miles were on 25-27psi and thats about 80k now.

I used to see spikes as high as 35psi but i have better safeties in place now.

I take it the weak point on the stock lancer motors is probably the same weak point on my motor which is the rods.

Plenty of evo's use the 2.4L as a stroker motor for the car you know.

The current stock ecu record was done on the 4g94 with an evo head basically. 1053whp on a dynojet at 45psi of boost :P.

Non 4G94 but since the Evo guys came in I thought ahh why not.

5psi now for about 40kms

Soon to be at least 7 though but the motor is aging I think i'm getting the fear.

I want to buy another motor and get it built up but it's such a PITA with this motor it's kind of a gong show trying to find internals.

you guys know that the 4g94 is not interchangeable with evo heads right? lol also that its a 2.0 litre. i think what you might be thinking of is the 4g64. thats a swappable motor for us lancer guys. that is a 2.4 and is interchangeable with 4g63 heads. its pretty much just a bored out g63 block. the internals on that motor are much stronger that the g94's and are good for up to around 350hp. personally i dont know why no ones ever tried to drop an evo g63 in a lancer.. tranny should bolt right up, and only one motor mount bracket should need to be fabricated just like with the g64 swap. also the evo wiring harness is almost exactly the same as the lancer and the evo ecu is old news. i think the myth that its gonna cost upwards of 10k has got everyone scared to try it. yes the evo g63 is probably gonna cost a couple grand. but i think it can be done for under 5k. probably more like 3 or 4k.

anyways back on topic..

im running 11lbs at 205hp and 213tq.

was running that for about 5k miles then cracked my manifold. now my other manifold is in the mail. should be boosting again by next week.

Hmm..since most people are around 10 I think I'm going to up mine soon and just watch the a/f to make sure it stays in the rich until I can get another tune....and I'm curious too if it's that simple of a drop for that g63, what car is that from exactly?

evo record is with a 4g64 not a 4g94..

and he was refurring to 94

so :P

4g63 motors have FORGED internals stock, 4g94 is all cast pieces.. realistically even with hondas with similiar internal components factory they can only handle 10-12psi without failing, but that does depending on the tune.
