warranty question
mitsu is pretty crazy about their warranties. I should say anything they have reasonable cause to believe had any hand in your problem can cause a claim to be denied. If your worried about it get a lawyer or keep the car stock.
Most of the time these questions and the related denials of claims deal with the power train. If you put a intake on your car they CAN deny a powertrain claim, or at least try to. In the end its going to really come down to your dealership, and what the problem is. Make friends and buy the mitsu filters from the dealer to keep a record of service and they will probably cut you some slack.
If you don't want to do that a short list of mods that probably won't get you busted are.......air filter intake, cat-back exhaust, gauges. Sometimes you can get away with doing intercooler pipes or a downpipe but thats pushing it. I have heard of mitsu denying claims for everything I listed and even a few other minor mods, catch-can, etc.
If you want to go fast there is always the risk, run the car to 10k on the clock to make sure nothing is going to **** early, most serious problems show themselves early on. One thing is don't get all butt hurt if you do mod your car and they won't warranty a problem. In the end it was your choice.

When I was evo shopping I talked to a seller that was REALLY pushing the fact that he has a warranty, and how that ensures his evo was the one to buy, some quick searching here proved otherwise...
Mitsu voids warranties like no other... If I had one, id try to use it but expect to be using my wallet for any repairs
