Intercooler VS Intercooler Core?

i was searching around for one to replace my stock evo 8 intercooler, and was unsure the difference if any between the two.
by that i mean some are posted as intercoolers, others as intercooler cores.
any difference? which ones better if so?

btw, not trying to go into who makes the best one for the best price, was just shopping and this confused me

so with just the core you'd have to weld your own ends on to fit your piping?

Yes. The core is the section with the fins, the end tanks are welded on and then the piping for the couplers is also welded on. All of that combined is the entire intercooler.

Intercooler Core:

Center section only, in our case it would be the bar and plate core. The end tanks where the inlet and outlet would be sold separate.

Intercooler:

This would be a complete bolt on assembly w/ end tanks.

Thanks,

Michael
