I was looking on youtube and saw videos about those screamer pipes. they sound loud and nice. I was wondering, do they do any good for the turbo?
and are they the same thing as a external wastegate dump?
kinda new with turbos. so dont know too much

When the wastegate opens it routes the exhaust gases and dumps them under the car...resulting in the loud noise you hear...

Normally it'd route through the o2 housing and out the back of the car...

Shearer makes a nice one. Do a quick search on O2 dumps and you should get all the info you need.

MAP had some good deals going on; but I agree with everyone here, they are pretty annoying.

Your new release of the updated o2 dump is a sick looking piece, however I just dont like how they sound, to me it makes a perfect sounding evo sound like a cheap honda or acura with a POS exhaust with a tin coffee can rasp to it... total turn off for me but some people love it.

I dont think its worth the extra 10-15 hp...

I have one, and personally love it, its not anoyying because it only happens at WOT, and I know its going to happen. Plus the joy of scaring the **** out of people is fun!

^ to each his own, I took a ride in my friends car who has one, this ride is a beautiful show car but also is a DD and puts down alot of power and when this thing opened up it totally ruined it for me... I thought it sounded like crap...

I think a true 44mm external dump sounds better, but its not enough to make me totally dislike it. I've been around wastegate dumps for a while though with all my friends cars, Grand Nationals, Mustang, etc. Its deftinally different sounding because I have quite a few friends who hate it as well.

i love mine, doesnt draw attention for daily driving. but under WOT, it sounds like a straitpipe and very nasty. one of my favorite mods

My MAP o2 eliminator DP sounds awesome and its great quality....you pay a little more for it over buying an O2 housing and a DP separately, but I think it's worth the extra cash if you can afford it...personally I like the way external dumps sound, sounds mean at WOT
