SpecB Owner Lurking...
Greetings. Let's get down to it. I'm on my 2nd Subaru in four years. I'm really enjoying the boosted AWD driving experience. I had an '06 WRX TR w/ a VF39(STi) turbo + supporting mods. 293whp/328wtq. That got boring and I wanted more luxury so I got my current car, an '07 LGT SpecB. I wanted a 6 speed! I really like my current car but its still not enough. Last month, she put down 354whp/350wtq, tuned by Clark Turner.
I'm slowly falling in love with the EVO X. I admit it.
I'm here to listen and learn. Subarus are great but its time for something else. Its either going to be an EVO X or...wait for it...a C6 Z06. I've never had a v8 RWD car and I want to experience it eventually.
Here it is:
Car: 2007 Legacy GT Spec B
Tuner: Clark Turner/Ron Williams
Dyno Temperature: 91 degrees, 75% humidity
Mods:
COBB AP V2
BNR TD05 20G/VF40 hybrid (EWG)
IAG Performance EWG Up Pipe (wrapped)
Tial Vband 38mm EWG dumped into DP
Perrin Catless 3" DP (wrapped)
COBB 3" Cat back exhaust
Mad Dad EL Header (wrapped)
Perrin TMIC
Perrin Turbo Inlet
AVO 245 LPH Fuel Pump
DW 750cc inj.
KStech 73mm CAI
Prodrive 3 Port Boost Control Solenoid
COBB BOV
COBB Springs
COBB F + R Sways
KartBoy Short Throw Shifter + Bushings
AEM Wideband, STRi Boost + Oil Pressure
Group N Upgraded Trans + motor mounts
Kartboy Pitch Stop Mount
'04 STi Brembos + rotors (not installed. Hopefully next weekend)
On 93 octane, car put down 354whp/350wtq. Peak boost is 20psi, tapering to 18 psi @ redline thanks to the EWG.
*It says 08 Spec B on the computer but that was wrong and so is the date.
Graph shows WHP, RPM and BOOST. I didn't get a picture of the WTQ curve.

Am I happy? With these numbers on this tiny turbo and a top mount intercooler, yes. I just wish I would've installed a methanol kit before the tune. I wanted a fun, fully loaded, daily driven sedan with a 6 speed manual. I got it. Other than some coilovers, putting these Brembo’s on and some bracing, I'm done with this car. This will be my last AWD import for a while. I'm going RWD V8 next. This **** is just too slow.
Pros:
A wonderfully balanced car that I sat on for a year while I did the research to achieve exactly what I wanted. Car isn't very loud, EWG is dumped into the DP. The car idles quietly. The engine + car both look extremely stock (which is exactly what I wanted). Car drives completely stock until 3800 rpms. The witchcraft happens between 3800-6000 rpms. The 20G is an awesome, streetable turbo and the EWG helps it pull on the top end. The turbo I’m using actually uses the stock turbo housing + location. The difference is the 20G compressor wheel + td05 turbine wheel.
Cons:
Should’ve done a FMIC + meth. I want a faster, more powerful car. We'll see how long the stock clutch holds.
Comments + questions welcome.
