Looking to purchase an Evo X

Hey guys -

I hope that this type of topic isn't inappropriate to post here, I'm sure there have been numerous other threads with a similar spin. However, every situation is different and that's why I'm here.

I currently drive a 2001 Accord and I've been driving it for the last 6.5 years. I've really been into the Honda seen and saw myself getting into a 05+ s2000 but ever since driving my friend's 340whp Evo 8 several times, my desires have changed. I was considering just getting an evo 8 but given how old they are, I felt that an Evo X, reasonably priced, would make more sense to consider.

I plan on putting a hefty down payment on one, if I do in fact get one, and I'm looking to get something around 25-26k with in the next 10-12 months. I am a technical consultant for a IT firm and I do a fair amount of driving, but they reimburse me for mileage; obviously, gas mileage is somewhat of a concern. What kind of highway mileage do you guys typically experience? Also, for those of you in close proximity of NJ, have you had any good experiences with any particular dealership?

I wanted to see if any of you have any input on purchasing one, anything I should look out for, etc. I'd like to get one with less than 40k miles if possible and I just wanted to see if anyone had any advice with joining the Mitsubishi community. I've read a fair amount of threads on here, and it seems like everyone's pretty supportive, which is cool. Thanks in advance!

Yeah, I figured that 200whp wouldn't entertain me for very long and AWD is a big plus due to the winters we have here in NJ

Depending on how heavy on the throttle you, 16-24mpg. There are tunes out there that increase mileage, but those are the main numbers.

If you're buying used, a GSR, I'd prepare to get a new clutch. There really hasn't been anything major besides that on the Xs.

I'd recommend dealing with Bell Mitsubishi if you are in northern/central NJ

I typically see 18-22 mpg on the highway (constant traffic lights) in mild traffic with a fair amount of boosting
