What's up guys,
I finally got a chance to get some AWD turbo action in my life...always wanted an Evo, got lucky and came across one straight out of the land of the JDM. I Love it so far....Kinda busy at work but here are a few pics.

How often do timing tain tensioners fail on these cars? I'm getting a no start situation, fuel is getting to the rail, squirting out the injectors, can hear the pump.
Is it normal for the pump to ONLY kick on during start up? And no prime when you turn the key over?? Just wondering, either way it's spitting plenty of fuel to the rail but I was just shocked I couldn't hear it prime if I wasn't attempting to actually start the vehicle.
Spark is good, the GReddy Iridiums are in decent shape. Turns over fine....I'm thinking the cam gears skipped teeth. I noticed the belt was REAAAALLY loose after trying to start the car a few times. Of course it gets tight when your actually attempting to start the car. Which leads to the next newb question, does the tensioner usually keep the belt tight at ALL times??
Thanks for any help on the matter fellas, I know its a shot in the dark but I'm in Spain, I got no help to work on this Evo, they just see a pretty car w/a big wing on it.

Mods are pretty obvious for the most part:
-Stock turbo w/Tubular Manifold
-HKS Intake w/HKS BOV
-Buddy Club full Exhaust
-HKS Boost guage(reads about half a bar WOT so about 7-8psi)
-Blitz Radiator
-Full Roll cage(makes me wonder what they used it for
)
