I have a set of Defi gauges and finally got my exhaust manifold tapped for EGT probe. I was wondering what are safe and unsafe temps for the EGT.

Why not just watch knock ??? And use the Tephra mod to flash your CEL if you are knocking...

I should have posted that, the person that tuned my car set it up to have the CEL flash when the car knocks. My gauge reads from 100-1100 degrees F. When i am just cruising it reads about 600.

Since your running E85 your going to see a lot lower EGTs on ethanol than your going to see on gas. If I can remember my DSM days I think people always stayed under 1600F but I could be wrong.

1600F/900C is usually as high as you'd want to go on a DD/street car
